As part of our mission, the Fleet Management team plays a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of Confluent software on Confluent Cloud at scale and in heterogeneous cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), ensuring seamless maintenance and recovery for our customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on a scalable fleet management system that impacts the entire organization and our customers.What You Will Do:

  • Develop and maintain the Fleet Management platform to manage rollouts and control plane operations on Confluent Cloud
  • Implement and enhance features for authorization, access control, audit operations, active monitoring, and paced rollouts with canary updates
  • Ensure observability by providing insights into workflow progress, live notifications, and a wide-angle view of the fleet
  • Collaborate with internal cloud developers, product developers, and security engineers to meet their needs and improve the platform
  • Maintain high standards of operational excellence by focusing on simplicity, scalability, and thorough testing of changes
What You Will Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and platform management
  • Experience with scalable systems and operational best practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
What Gives You an Edge:
  • Experience with Confluent products or similar data streaming technologies
  • Familiarity with fleet management systems and cloud-native microservices
  • Knowledge of security and access control best practices
