Senior Software Engineer
We have an opportunity for a Sr Software Engineer to join our NIOS Platform team in Burnaby reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting core platform features that power our industry-leading NIOS platform. Collaborating closely with Distinguished Engineers, Architects, QA, Product Security, and Customer Escalation teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. As a critical contributor to the evolution of Infoblox's next-generation DDI services, you will help shape software architecture, enhance product security, and drive platform scalability and performance.
Be a Contributor -- What You'll Do
Design, develop, and debug software modules for the NIOS DDI platform
Write high-quality code using Linux, C/C++; Python, and XML
Apply your knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Linux internals, and networking stacks
Create detailed design documents and comprehensive test plans
Collaborate with product architects, senior engineers, QA, and support teams to resolve complex technical challenges
Be Prepared -- What You Bring
6-10 years of professional experience in software engineering
Solid systems background and knowledge of Linux kernel and OS internals, GNU toolchain, and debugger knowledge
Excellent network, socket, and multi-threaded programming required; experience working in DNS and DHCP protocols is a plus
Superb development and problem-solving skills are required
Strong working knowledge of Linux platform services, performance analysis, and kernel level debugging using GDB and other tools
Solid understanding of networking concepts, OSPF, BGP, IPv6, DHCP, and DNS protocol
Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and vCloud Director is a plus
Experience in micro services architecture and container-based software using Docker and other container technologies is a plus
Experience in Agile methodologies with software development life-cycle experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar technical field is required

: Understand key functionalities of the core NIOS/vNIOS platforms. Contribute and participate in analyzing, providing root cause analysis, and solutions for NIOS issues.

: Make significant contributions in fixing customer issues and handling escalations, make significant contributions to our design and processes and start taking ownership of product features.
