The opening is located at our Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, facility and reports directly to a Sr. Manager, Embedded Software In-Vehicle Experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop best in class real-time 3D visualizations across a variety of applications.
  • Create progressive, intuitive, and reliable applications for the Rivian in-vehicle experience.
  • Collaborate with the UX/UI design team to realize beautiful, cutting edge designs.
  • Test the in-vehicle experience in the lab and in Rivian prototype vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues found during testing.
  • Help drive research into new technologies and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with other divisions in understanding and sharing of technology roadmaps, portfolios and intellectual property.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years\' experience with software development life cycle experience, from requirements gathering through to implementation and maintenance.
  • 6+ years\' experience with modern object-oriented languages: Java, Kotlin, C++. Python is a plus.
  • Experience with Android application frameworks.
  • Deep experience working with 3D real time graphics. Experience with major game engines required (ex.: Unreal Engine, etc)
  • Experience working with 3D models, digital materials, and lighting, with an eye for photorealism.
  • Deep understanding of user-friendly, immersive, reactive user interface development.
  • is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs and HTTP.
  • Experience in game development is strongly preferred. Automotive electronics and/or consumer electronics is a plus.
  • Proficiency in authoring animations and interactive experiences.
