Lightspeed is looking for talented and experienced Senior Software Developers to join their growing Payments team. As an individual contributor, youll deliver new features and improvements to Lightspeeds Payments product - a global-scale platform that powers merchants all over the world. In Payments, youll be on the frontline of adding real-world value to our products, igniting our merchants businesses, and driving Lightspeeds future success. You\'ll join the Onboarding team which is dedicated to creating a frictionless and secure onboarding experience for our merchants across the globe. Our team integrates seamlessly with external parties and services that provide KYC and KYB verifications and with payment service providers, ensuring that all necessary checks are completed swiftly and accurately. What you\'ll be responsible for

• Delivering features and improvements to Payments codebases, design to production
• Breaking down items of work and leading other developers to deliver on those items
• Finding technical improvements to your teams services and infrastructure
• Performing code reviews and providing clear, actionable feedback
• Writing code with observability and monitoring in mind
• Participating in technical design reviews
• Building strong expertise in your teams services and workflows
• Providing mentorship and knowledge sharing to other developers

What youll be bringing to the team

• Strong software engineering and computer science fundamentals
• Strong programming skills in modern Typescript/Javascript technologies like React and Next.js
• Experience developing in other mainstream programming languages (Java, Python, etc)
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Knowledge of modern architectural paradigms in distributed, event-driven systems
• Experience leading initiatives and feature work through all stages of delivery
• Experience writing technical specifications and architecture documentation
• Experience in agile development best practices in a product team
• Experience in mentorship of other developers and providing knowledge-sharing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Even better if you have, but not necessary

• Knowledge of eCommerce / POS systems / Payments industry
• Experience building scalable SaaS solutions
• Experience in DevOps and IaaC
