Safety Power is the leading Canadian cleantech provider of environmental control equipment for large scale (1,000 to 10,000 HP) engine based gensets. Safety Power's customer base includes North America's largest internet and technology companies. This is a newly created position as the company is growing!

Job Summary:

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of internal software, while leading a small development team.

This position has strong potential for career growth, with a succession path to a Junior Architect role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Design and development of new features and maintenance of existing software. Effectively lead and motivate a team of software developers, providing mentorship and technical guidance. Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices are being followed. Oversee server management and ensure the quality and stability of the infrastructure is maintained. Effectively collaborate with designated staff, including other departments across the organization. Effectively manage performance and communicate expectations to staff. All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in software development. Experience with Python/Django & full-stack development is an asset Experience with configuring and managing server infrastructure is preferred Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Proven troubleshooting skills to effectively solve complex technical problems. Time management/organization skills.
