The City of Kamloops is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic Information Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coding, a deep understanding of software development best practices, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. This role involves leading complex projects, managing our database environment, and contributing to the architectural decisions that shape our solutions.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:


Completion of a post-secondary degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

Minimum three years' experience within the last four years as a programmer or developer that includes: + being the lead in creating various modern web and mobile solutions
+ writing and enhancing application interfaces
+ working with web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, Java/J2EE, Net Framework, etc.) and web services (XML, SOAP, REST)
+ working with source code and version repository systems
+ database administration and/or development in at least two of the following database platforms: ORACLE, MSSQL, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL
Demonstrated typing speed of 40 WPM.

A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE Local 900 position.



Hourly Rate



$49.642



Hours & Days of Work



Monday to Friday:

8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Summer)

8:30 am - 4:30 pm (Winter)
