About the Role
This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1 day on-site per week. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.
As ATB's next Senior Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs, API Gateway proxies, and various integrations.
Working collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals, your primary focus will be to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that facilitate seamless integrations. While teamwork is essential, you will also be responsible for independently managing and delivering assigned tasks, ensuring they are completed on time and meet strict quality standards.
Accountabilities

  • Designs, codes, unit tests and integrates new features and functionality as defined by the TPO (Technical Product Owner) and team.
  • Lead ideation and technical discovery sessions, proposing creative and disruptive digital solutions to advance ATB's platform capabilities.
  • Builds APIs, API Products and solutions to drive projects.
  • Assists in the development of automated test harnesses as necessary to ensure delivery of high-quality code.
  • Completes and ensures completion of any required documentation e.g. deployment, maintenance, support and business needs.
  • Develop and maintain APIs to support secure, scalable, and performant API Integrations.
  • Proactively monitor, diagnose, and resolve complex operational and performance issues to ensure high availability of production services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the seamless integration of APIs and solutions into the gateway and broader ecosystem.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to complex challenges, effectively articulating solutions through written and verbal channels to influence stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Act as a technical guide for the team, fostering a culture of learning by sharing knowledge, conducting code reviews, and helping peers grow their skill sets.
Skills, Experience & Requirements
Accreditations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent
Must Have
  • Expert in one or more programming languages including but not limited to: Java, Python, JavaScript, Typescript.
  • Manage the full application lifecycle by troubleshooting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) and enforcing source code management best practices.
  • Experience with architecture skills including Integration component design, integration & API management / architecture, designing for non-functional requirements, and solution design risk assessment
  • Knowledge of application lifecycle skills including application design, test definition, and technical analysis
