We are searching for self-motivated and passionate individuals who will be responsible to oversee the care and containment of individuals held at the Immigration Holding Center in Surrey BC. We offer diverse range of opportunities that will help you achieve your long-term goals.

Pay Rate: $31.95

What to expect at the Detention Center in Surrey

(CBSA: Canada Border Service Agency)

• Ensure the protection, custody, and control of medium to high-risk detained persons.
• Provide the guards with the proper assignments or posts.
• Utilizing methods authorized by CBSA for conducting searches of cells, detainees, and property.
• Communicate the shift briefing and procedures changes to the team.
• Provide support and initial/on-going training to guards.
• Execute emergency evacuation protocols when necessary and make sure that the team understands them.
• Promptly notifying the CBSA both verbally and in written form following critical incidents or deficiencies.
• Conduct supervisor visits and audits to posts within the IHC.

Successful Candidate Must have the Following

• Permanent Residents or Canadian Citizens.
• BC Security Licence.
• Driver License Class 5.
• 1 year in supervisory security roles, law enforcement, or CBSA contract.
• 1 year of experience managing a team of 10+.

Nice to have the Following

• Standard First Aid (OFA 1) is considered an asset.
• Advanced Security Training (AST) is considered an asset.
• Transport Security Clearance (TSC), RAIC, and Class 4 driver\'s license are considered an asset.
• Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
