Based in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is currently seeking a full-time Grade 9 to 12 Physical and Health Education teacher for the 2026 - 2027 academic year. Please note that this is a fixed-term contract for a period of one year.
As the successful candidate, you have demonstrated subject matter expertise. You also have a history of school and community involvement, promoting belonging, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the classroom, thriving in a busy learning community, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Your teaching practice includes current learning theories, and creative use of technology. Priority will be given to candidates who are Ontario College of Teachers certified.
Minimum Requirements
A degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, or a related field
Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (in good standing), currently in progress toward achieving OCT certification, or demonstrated ability to obtain OCT certification
Demonstrated subject matter expertise
Preferred Qualifications
The ability to teach in both English and French is a strong asset
Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR, ensuring preparedness for emergencies
Evidence of teaching that has been enhanced by technology
Demonstrated commitment to enriching whole school life for students, including promoting pluralism and enhancing student belonging
International teaching experience
