Senior Research Analyst - Bibliometrics (Remote)

About the Role

As a senior research analyst, you will act as a consultant working directly with clients to understand and meet their research analytics, strategy and evaluation needs.

Responsibilities

Your main tasks will be to lead the design, execution and validation of key studies through:

Communicating with clients

Drafting proposal

Preparing/conditioning data

Computing indicators

Analyzing data (e.g., descriptive statistics plus modelling (e.g., multivariate analysis, ML))

Producing/developing visualizations

Providing and writing meaningful narratives and insights based on findings

As part of this work, your role will entail a mix of management, coaching/validation and execution for each of the above tasks. Coaching entails developing and delivering tutorials and trainings on how to best execute bibliometric projects. Additionally, you may contribute to developing new ways (e.g., new indicators, templated reports) of supporting the evolving needs of research performing and funding organizations.

Requirements

Have experience extracting, transforming, loading, curating and enriching data from various sources. Ability to code is a plus (SQL, Python, Pyspark, etc.).

Have experience in the analysis, visualization and interpretation of results to deliver intuitive insights in support of evidence-based decision making using a variety of formats (databooks, Tableau dashboards, presentations, written reports, etc.).

Have experience working independently, can manage multiple projects at different stages, work in an agile way as well as prioritize and signal challenges early on.

Have the ability to manage client relations (active listening, building trust, presenting, addressing comments, etc.).

Have interest in pursuing new lines of research in fields such as bibliometrics, research evaluation, and STI policy.

Preferably has experience with one or a combination of the following: bibliometrics, research and evaluation theory, and study design.
