General Accountability

Co-ordinates, plans, administers and supervises the activities associated with operations performance metrics and information management control systems within the Department. Designs, develops and modifies programs to facilitate accessibility of information and ensures maximum utilization of data. Provides statistical analyses, summaries, KPI\'s, charts, graphs, etc. as well as guidance to other employees regarding computerized systems and applications within the Department.

Key Job Functions

  • Administers and manages all databases within the S/E/C Department
  • Ensures that information management control systems for the S/E/C Department are developed and administered
  • Designs and implements key business metrics and subsequent reporting in a timely and effective manner to support and track operational decisions and impacts
  • Develops and implements project control systems, cost evaluation methodologies and performance evaluation criteria in accordance with established corporate policies and guidelines
  • Track, monitor and communicate performance against project plan, requirement measures, milestones and KPI
  • Perform a variety of cost/budget studies and research assignments, requiring analysis and interpretation of data
  • Provide project control support as well as cost analyst and reconciliation for assigned projects
  • Provides analysis, software design, coding and programming; prepares detailed flowcharts, and program instructions
  • Develops, designs, tests, debugs and implements new programs and/or modifies existing programs, including preparing program specifications and micro/mainframe computer applications to meet current and future requirements
  • Designs and modifies programs to facilitate accessibility of information on a timely basis
  • Compiles statistical data to identify trends, patterns etc. and preparing associated reports
  • Codes complex program instructions in various languages
  • Makes presentations concerning statistics, associated systems and procedures as required
  • Participates in the TTC\'s Customer Service Ambassador Program

Education and Experience
  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e. Accounting, Engineering, Finance, Management Information Systems or a Business related field) or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in business consulting, financial reporting and/or development of customized reporting systems.
  • Exposure in Asset Management and Reliability Centered Maintenance concepts would be beneficial.
Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge of information management control systems, statistical analysis procedures, programming principles and methods
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications, combined with thorough familiarity with procedures associated with computerized applications
  • A good mathematical background, and excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of business strategy/operations, business architecture, IT strategy and enterprise architecture
  • Experience creating materials and presenting to business and executive audiences, and translating IT solutions and terminology into business friendly terms
  • Experience in collaborating with others in the development of a strategy, with a history of success in influencing without authority
  • Strong technology background in successfully leading and developing large scale application or technology solutions
  • Knowledge of project planning and management, including scope, time and resource management
