Permanent, Full-time, On-site/Remote/Hybrid

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the success and growth of our organization? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join us as the Senior Recruiter. In this key position, you will lead and execute talent acquisition strategies, working closely with hiring managers and Recruiters to identify, attract, and retain top talent.

What You\'ll Be Doing:

As a Senior Recruiter, you\'ll be at the forefront of our talent acquisition efforts, contributing to the development of recruitment strategies and working alongside a team of dedicated recruiters. Your responsibilities will span the entire recruitment lifecycle, from job requisition to onboarding, ensuring a seamless and efficient hiring process. Your collaborative approach will extend beyond our internal teams to external departments, recruitment agencies, consultants, and post-secondary institutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition Strategy: Assist in the development and execution of our organization\'s talent acquisition strategy, aligning it with our mission, vision, and business objectives.
  • Consultation with Hiring Managers: Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance throughout the recruitment process.
  • Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods, including online job boards, social media, networking, and employee referrals, to identify and attract potential candidates.
  • Management: Assist in creating and maintaining accurate job descriptions, ensuring alignment with company needs and compensation guidelines.
  • Candidate Evaluation: Conduct interviews, assess candidates\' skills, experience, and cultural fit, and provide offer recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Talent Pipeline Development: Maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future staffing needs, proactively seeking out top talent.
  • Employment Branding: Enhance our organization\'s recruitment brand through various channels, including our applicant tracking system and social media platforms.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to recruitment services team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze recruitment metrics and data to continuously improve the recruiting process, providing regular reports on hiring progress and challenges.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all hiring processes and practices comply with Human Rights Legislation and Employment Standards; possess a working knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Onboarding Support: Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, helping them integrate smoothly into the organization.
  • Vendor and Agency Management: Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, external consultants, and other talent acquisition vendors.
  • Negotiation/Finalization: Negotiate and finalize terms for all new hires, ensuring alignment with the organization\'s needs and compensation guidelines. Establish formal employee contracts where required.
  • Strategic Partner: Collaborate with the Manager - Recruitment Services to support the development and implementation of the city\'s attraction and retention strategy.
  • Other duties as required.
What You Bring:
  • Proven expertise in recruitment strategies, candidate assessments, collective agreements, recruitment agencies, and labor market conditions.
  • Advanced knowledge of recruitment techniques, leadership training, workforce/succession planning, change management, and performance management.
  • Strong familiarity with applicable Human Rights Legislation and Employment Standards; working knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with a commitment to handling sensitive personnel matters professionally.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide Recruitment Services Specialists.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation and regulations.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to address issues in an open, constructive manner demonstrating respect for others, building trust, and achieving positive outcomes.
  • Proven ability to use judgment and make decisions, seek additional insights, and understand decisions made within an organization, along with department business plans.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a bachelor\'s degree in commerce, business administration, or a related field (preferably with a major in Human Resource Management) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Six (6) years of directly related talent acquisition or recruiter role, human resources experience, focusing on attraction and retention strategies, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Supplementary coursework related to the human resources profession is a plus (e.g., Registered Professional Recruiter); experience with behavior-based interviewing and candidate assessment tools is an asset.
  • CHPR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) designation considered an advantage.
  • A combination of education and experience approved by management may be considered.
