SUMMARY
We are seeking to hire a skilled Senior R&D Engineer for the development of Ansys CFD turbomachinery models. The position involves the development and maintenance of advanced numerics related to blade-row interaction models, contributing to the technology roadmap for turbomachinery blade-row modeling methods. This job requires working closely with members of the turbomachinery methods team and other Ansys CFD development teams to ensure the capabilities meet ANSYS\'s strategic needs and our customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITES
The position involves developing and maintaining functionality related to the Ansys CFD turbomachinery modeling capabilities. Areas of work for this position may include improvements to existing capabilities, implementation of advanced features, and development of solver meshing-interface capabilities. Responsibilities include:
Development of infrastructure and numerics for connecting rotating and stationary zones
Development and maintenance of transient blade row interaction methods
Development of turbomachinery-related boundary conditions and numerics
Design, development, optimization, and maintenance of features in the products, according to project requirements and established quality standards
Design, implement, and maintain software related to meshing capabilities within CFD products.
Performs complex bug verification, release testing, and beta support for assigned products.
Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions
In addition, the incumbent will ensure that developed features are optimized for high performance using parallel computing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field with 5 years\' experience, MS with 3 years\' experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
R&D and practical experience in Fourier-based phase-shift methods, Harmonic Balance methods, and other advanced reduced-geometry blade row interaction models
Excellent and demonstrated programming skills in at least one computer language (preferably C/C++).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Experience in turbomachinery flow simulation such as:
aerodynamic performance
aeromechanical analysis (blade flutter)
Familiarity with a variety of CFD solver techniques is desirable
Working knowledge in discrete Fourier Transform
Familiarity with various aspects of parallel and high-performance computing is a plus
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Passion for crafting robust and efficient code
Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team
