Job Description

AECOM Mississauga is seeking a

Senior Rail Bridge Engineer

to provide owner's advisory services for

rail bridge structure projects

from conceptual design through substantial completion. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a

technical expert

within an integrated project delivery team. The ideal candidate will bring

advanced structural engineering expertise, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to excellence in infrastructure development

.



This position offers a hybrid work arrangement and requires co-location at our client's office in downtown Toronto at least 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:



Serve as a

technical advisor

and

senior resource

for bridge design and analysis, ensuring compliance with Canadian and international design standards. Work with

multidisciplinary teams

in the

design, assessment, and rehabilitation

of major heavy rail and transit structures. Provide

specialized technical input

on structural materials, construction methods, and engineering best practices. Providing arm's length

quality assurance

, ensuring the compliance of

design calculations, drawings, and technical reports

with standards and specifications. Develop

innovative and cost-effective

engineering solutions, optimizing structural performance and longevity. Prepare and review

technical specifications, feasibility studies, and construction cost estimates

. Collaborate with

clients, contractors, government agencies, and internal teams

during project execution. Contribute to the development of

engineering budgets, project schedules, and resource planning

to meet delivery milestones. Provide

mentorship

and support junior engineers in a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



Bachelor's degree

in Civil or Structural Engineering. Minimum

8

+ years

of experience in bridge and transportation structure design.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)

designation in Ontario.

Preferred Qualifications:



Extensive experience leading

rail bridge design

projects within and adjacent to live rail corridors. Proficiency in

advanced structural analysis and design software

(e.g., MIDAS, CSI Bridge, SAP2000). Strong knowledge of

AREMA and

Canadian bridge design codes and standards

. Demonstrated

leadership and team management skills

, with experience supervising engineers and designers. Excellent

communication and presentation skills

, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to

coordinate with contractors, government agencies, and interdisciplinary teams

for seamless project execution.
