Overview

Are you a registered psychologist with expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological aspects of physical conditions? Do you have a thorough understanding of psychological reactions to workplace injury and trauma? Were looking for qualified psychologists to join our dynamic Mental Health Services department and work with teams specialized in trauma, serious injuries, high-risk situations, brain injury, occupational disease, chronic pain, and difficult work relations.

How youll make a difference: As part of our interdisciplinary case-management teams, youll focus on helping injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work.

Where youll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operation needs of the position.

In this role, youll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally onsite at your local area office.

We offer a flexible Monday-to-Friday work week, a full- or part-time schedule, and a choice of work location in offices across British Columbia.

What you\'ll do

• Engage in collaborative, proactive, individual case consultations
• Participate in team meetings
• Conduct file reviews and write clinical opinions
• Plan and monitor assessment and treatment services
• Assess injured workers to provide diagnostic, causality options, and recovery recommendations
• Offer educational presentations to staff to promote an understanding of psychology and the concepts and practices of case management
• Provide supervision to psychologists engaged in the registration process for the College of Psychologists of British Columbia

Your background and experience

• A graduate degree in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, or counseling psychology

• Current registration with the College of Psychologists of BC or eligibility for an expedient registration with College of Psychologists of BC
• A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably in disability management, workers compensation, insurance, medical-legal setting, or healthcare
• Experience providing direct psychological/neuropsychological assessment and treatment services
• Training and experience in conducting psychological assessments and/or treatment in an institutional context

• Successfully meet the legal requirements under the Criminal Records Review Act to work with children and/or vulnerable adults
• Confirm youre legally entitled to work in Canada
