The Opportunity



As part of the Finance and Accounting Team, you will help support our Operations, Receivables, and Payables teams by designing, constructing, and maintaining financial-related analysis and reporting with the goal of providing and assisting in implementing recommendations that will improve overall performance. You will support and lead financial reporting and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across the portfolio.



Responsibilities:



Responsible for timely and accurate production of property financial reports, variance analysis, NOI analysis, and account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Prepare and review day-to-day transactions as part of a full accounting cycle, ensuring all accounting entries are accurate and complete for each period. Produce high quality financial analysis in a timely manner to ensure the Management and Operations teams have key insights to drive business and operational decisions. Work collaboratively with the Operations Team to design, develop, and implement financial models and reporting tools that help evaluate property performance, increase revenues, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, recommending and assisting in implementing solutions to enhance reporting, processes, and financial models. Interface and regularly communicate with various teams throughout the organization and with senior management to better understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver accordingly. Assist in the production of a timely and supported annual budget. Research the IFRS/IAS standards that may impact financial statements and reporting, coordinate policy solutions, and implement necessary process changes. Prepare cashflow forecasts and monthly reconciliations of subledgers. Assist with strengthening internal controls and monitoring adherence to financial operation policies. Support various special projects for internal stakeholders as required. Perform other duties within the nature and spirit of the job, as required.

Must Haves

CPA designation Minimum of 5 years of business experience within real estate accounting (experience in the real estate industry is an asset). Robust knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, and financial reporting. Knowledge of Yardi systems is considered an asset. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel; VBA knowledge is an asset. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Proven to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical skills and business mindset, with the ability to understand the big picture. Performance and goals-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently. Sees change as an opportunity and demonstrates initiative. Willingness to travel. Bilingualism in both English and French is considered an asset.
