The Opportunity

We're hiring a

Senior Property Accountant

to take a leadership role in our property accounting function. This role oversees a growing portfolio, leads process and system improvements, and helps build a strong foundation for the Property Management Accounting department.

Ideal for a self-motivated, flexible accounting professional who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and driving improvements.

What You'll Do

Lead full-cycle accounting and monthly/annual financial reporting for the property portfolio Oversee work completed by junior and intermediate accountants Revamp, structure, and spearhead the Property Accounting function Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses Manage complex entries, reconciliations, recoveries, and lease accounting Lead CMHC, lender reporting, and audit preparation Lead system implementations and Yardi enhancements Create standardized processes and improve accounting efficiencies Work closely with property managers, finance, and leadership teams

What You Bring

5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience (property management/real estate preferred) Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting skills Advanced experience with Yardi Experience leading system implementations or accounting transitions Strong analytical skills and ability to improve processes/resolve inefficiencies Excellent communication and leadership abilities CPA designation is an asset Self-motivated, flexible, and comfortable working independently Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP platforms
