In this role, you will work directly with the Yukon Area Manager to provide direction and leadership to staff within the Whitehorse Office. This office provides engineering services to our clients including the Yukon Government, City of Whitehorse, First Nations and other Communities throughout the territory.

Job Requirements
What you'll do
As a Senior Project Manager in the Whitehorse office, the successful candidate must be able to: (1) be a leader of the business in the Whitehorse office; (2) be technically competent and drive the technical performance of the team; (3) possess credible understanding of project management, engineering planning and design, and construction.
Duties will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
  • Providing a leadership role to a multi-disciplinary team in the execution of major projects.
  • Collaborating with the Area Manager in developing the business, client relationships, and the team.
  • Ensuring the Whitehorse office's objectives are achieved through developing and executing an annual business plan that includes identifying and preparing a summary of objectives that address business development, staffing and staff development, project delivery, and financial performance.
  • Organizing and leading market development including identifying business opportunities and threats, identifying key recruiting and training needs, organizing and executing business development initiatives, and leading select proposal development efforts.
  • Assisting operational management including delivering strong financial performance and monitoring projects for schedule, financial and technical performance.
  • Reviewing prospects to ensure that pursuits are within the Company's capabilities and that risks are managed.
  • Managing and coordinating technical staff and assigning resources to projects.
  • Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in accordance with accepted industry standards, company procedures, and client expectations.
  • Representing the Company locally in public and professional activities in an active manner which further enhances the reputation of the Company.
Does this sound like you?
Candidates should have the following experience and qualifications:
  • Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers Yukon.
  • 12+ years of experience in design, construction, and management.
  • 8+ years working in the consulting engineering industry.
  • Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
o Managing municipal infrastructure and multi-discipline projects.
o Business Development in both private and public sectors.
o Project management and controls with a proven track record of client delivery and satisfaction, and financial success.
o Leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
o Liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel within Canada as needed.
