What You'll Be Doing
The Internal Audit (IA) mandate is to provide independent, objective assurance that the Bank's system of internal controls for risk management and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning effectively. Internal Audit also provides specialist direction on enterprise security, protection, and investigation programs.
The Strategic Transformation Office (STO) within Internal Audit is a small, high functioning team dedicated to accelerating strategic focus areas, driving material improvements in audit execution and ultimately contributing to the organization's long-term value creation and stakeholder engagement.
As a Senior Project Manager within the STO, you will play a pivotal individual contributor role in advancing these objectives. You will report directly to the STO Senior Director and be responsible for
driving complex application and tooling projects, from requirements gathering to vendor selection to implementation. You will work closely with IA business leads and resources from the broader IA team to structure and lead a working team to deliver these projects.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. How You'll SucceedProject Planning & Management - Outline project goals, drive business and technical requirements, manage vendor options, RFI/RFP, migration approach and implementation strategy. Work closely with project lead, sponsors, third-party vendors and other stakeholders to develop business case. Create and manage resource plans that support project execution. Establish and execute on a project plan that strikes the right balance between budget, time, quality and risk. Monitor and report on milestones; ensure they are completed according to timelines and budgets. Issue/Risk Management- Proactively manage issues that will take projects off schedule by identifying solution and getting stakeholder buy-in. Manage key risks and dependencies by implementing mitigation strategies; escalate issues and risks as appropriate. Stakeholder Management- Develop trusted working relationships with all stakeholders. Lead teams of internal & external stakeholders and technology partners in early phases to perform analysis and research to determine viability of the initiative before completing a full business case. Define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities and ensuring all project team members are working towards established milestones. Communication and Collaboration - Collaborate across teams and provide regular updates. Communicate project status and progress in governance meetings to a broad audience including senior management, executive leaders (VP and above) and external partners to support informed decision making. Negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary. Leverage strong relationships to ensure open communication channels to resolve issues and drive project success. Change Management: You will develop and implement change management strategies, including communication, training, and resistance management plans, to support successful adoption of transformation initiatives. Delivery Excellence: You will hold yourself and your working team accountable to deliver on commitments (full scope with quality, on time and within budget where applicable). You will adopt the robust governance structures and reporting processes as established to ensure transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making. You will track and monitor project progress, analyze metrics, and provide recommendations to STO management.

Who You AreYou can demonstrate at least 5 years of progressive experience in technical project management with enterprise/system integration experience, ideally within the financial services industry. You have managed complex projects in a matrix environment. You have experience with waterfall and agile methodologies and knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). You have experience with project and issue management tools such as MS Projects, ServiceNow, JIRA and have a strong understanding of project financials. Experience implementing network solutions including switch refreshes/upgrades, load balancing, VPN configurations would be beneficial. You're a certified professional. You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field of study. It's an asset if you have your PMP designation.
