Job Overview


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across assigned projects, guiding them from initiation to completion while representing the company in client and cross-departmental interactions. This role works closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to refine and implement best practices, ensuring that methodologies are continually updated. The Senior Project Manager also mentors internal and external stakeholders, offering expertise to add value at key stages and drive high-quality results on time and within budget. With a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, they leverage their experience and the most effective tools and techniques to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities



Project Planning & Management Develop comprehensive project plans outlining key milestones, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements. Collaborate with the PMO to source and manage internal and external project resources. Oversee scheduling, supply chain logistics, and team assignments to ensure smooth execution. Arrange programming, commissioning, and as-built documentation for project deliverables. Mentor and lead the administrative and coordination team, providing guidance and support. Conduct quality control inspections to verify that deliverables meet company and client standards. Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions to uphold quality expectations. Track and report on project costs weekly and monthly, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints. Assist in preparing installation budgets, quotations, and bid proposal documentation. Manage invoicing and payment tracking for all project-related expenses. Support and lead the project admin team in identifying and implementing operational efficiencies. Champion continuous improvement by refining project management processes and tools. Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project delivery aligns with scope, budget, and timeline. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, implementing timely solutions to address issues. Communicate project updates to stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Advise cross-functional teams on best practices and project tools, and follow up with updates for PMO review.

Requirements

and Experience



10+ years of experience as a Project Manager, or a combination of relevant experience and formal project management education. Strong foundational knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices. Ongoing education in PMI-recognized programs is considered an asset. Experience with AutoCAD or Vectorworks is beneficial but not essential. Proficiency in ERP software platforms is an asset. Understanding of lighting systems, audiovisual systems, electrical systems, or related components is preferred. Proven ability to build consensus and effectively manage diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet corporate deadlines. Flexibility to work across multiple project management tools and platforms. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software. Demonstrated ability to track and manage project costs effectively. Knowledge of project-related procurement processes is an asset. Solid understanding of accounts receivable/payable and general project accounting practices is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to solve problems both creatively and analytically. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to persuade, negotiate, and build relationships. Adaptability and a willingness to learn and embrace new challenges. Ethical and professional conduct with sensitivity to multicultural environments. Strong leadership in mentoring and team development. PM Certificate or PMP certification preferred; degree in a related field is an asset. Industry experience in lighting, audiovisual, exhibit fabrication, theatre production, event production, or related sectors is an asset. Familiarity with construction documents and their interpretation is required. Ability to facilitate meetings efficiently while maintaining focus on objectives and outcomes. Pay: $95,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
