to provide leadership and oversight for planning and implementation of initiatives that enhance individual access to Personal Health Information (PHI) and digital healthcare services in Ontario. This role involves close collaboration with Ontario Health (OH), internal ministry teams, and external delivery partners to support key digital health strategies, including EHR modernization and enhancements to services like Health811.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee multiple workstreams aligned with the provincial digital health strategy and PCAT strategic priorities.
Collaborate with Ontario Health to identify and manage project interdependencies, risks, and deliverables.
Apply standard project management methodologies to facilitate complex, multi-stakeholder project streams.
Maintain integrated project plans, schedules, and budgets using industry-standard tools (e.g., MS Project).
Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and communication materials for various governance bodies and stakeholders.
Track and report on progress, risks, and milestones in alignment with ministry expectations.
Ensure deliverables comply with applicable legislation, digital health policies, technical requirements, and interoperability standards.
Prepare and present reports to steering committees, advisory panels, and other governance groups.
Support long-term planning through strategic input and requirement gathering for future project phases.
Required Skills and Experience:
Health Sector & Digital Health
Strong understanding of Ontario's healthcare system, delivery structures, and stakeholder landscape.
Extensive experience working within or alongside the Ministry of Health and its delivery partners.
In-depth knowledge of Ontario's digital health programs, vendors, and assets (e.g., EHR, Health811, secure logins, patient portals).
Program & Project Management
Proven ability to manage large, complex projects to successful delivery, on time and within budget.
Expertise in applying PM methodologies (e.g., PMBOK) and using tools such as MS Project.
Demonstrated leadership and experience directing cross-functional project teams.
IT Strategy & Planning
Extensive experience in strategic planning in digital health contexts.
Ability to conduct options analyses, develop clear action plans, and align initiatives with broader policy goals.
Business Analysis
Skilled in business case development, process mapping, requirements gathering, and transition planning.
Experience leading transformational initiatives in healthcare or government settings.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
Adept at managing relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
Skilled in conflict resolution and consensus building in complex, multi-partner environments.
Experience leading matrixed teams and managing external vendors.
