Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of multi-family, wood frame construction projects across British Columbia. The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from pre-construction through to occupancy, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, client relationship management, and the ability to mentor project teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
Lead all phases of project delivery from design development, budgeting and scheduling through construction and close-out.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and forecasts; monitor progress and address deviations proactively.
Ensure adherence to contract documents, specifications, building codes and company standards.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and mentor project coordinators, site superintendents and other project staff.
Foster a collaborative environment between field and office teams.
Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, trade partners and internal teams.
Financial Management
Oversee project budgets including cost control, forecasting and reporting.
Review, approve and negotiate contracts, change orders and progress claims.
Track financial performance to ensure profitability and risk management.
Stakeholder & Client Relations
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants and subcontractors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring open communication and effective problem solving.
Represent the company in a professional manner that reflects our values and commitment to excellence.
Risk, Quality & Safety
Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with WorkSafe BC and company safety policies.
Maintain quality control
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive project management experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on wood frame multi-family projects.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects $20M+ in value.
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
