The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in overseeing multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. This role ensures that project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Sr. Project Manager supports the Construction Manager and collaborates with other construction team members including the Project Coordinator and Project Scheduler to ensure seamless execution of all phases of construction.
Responsibilities:
Finalize and issue subcontracts in coordination with the Estimating department
Issue Purchase Orders with approval from the Construction Manager
Expedite and track subcontractor documentation including Health & Safety, WSIB, and insurance requirements
Track and manage Change Orders to subcontractors
Obtain and maintain the Notice of Project and support project start-up and close-out checklists
Assist the Construction Manager with tracking actual vs. budget and reviewing job cost reports
Manage inspection and test reporting, including:
Reviewing reports to identify and track issues
Distributing documentation to relevant stakeholders
Filing reports and records appropriately
Gather, distribute, and file key project documentation such as:
Inspection and occupancy reports from city inspectors
Manuals, commissioning/test reports, and as-built drawings from contractors
As-built coordination with professionals
Documentation packages for site staff and purchasers
Support the Construction Manager and senior leadership with other duties as required
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience in the construction industry
Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, contracts, and scheduling
Proficiency in project management and construction-related software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
Role Specific Requirements:
Experience working on multi-phase construction projects
Proven ability to coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
Familiarity with Ontario Building Code and municipal permitting processes
Experience managing construction documentation from tender through close-out
Ability to support and mentor junior team members including Project Coordinators and Jr PMs
Compensation and Benefits:
The hiring range for this position is $110,000-$150,000 per year, based on a 40-hour work week. Final compensation will be determined by your skills, experience, education, and training.
