POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the Quality Improvement (QI) team at THP. Reporting to the Manager, Quality Improvement, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading the Accreditation sustainability plan as Accreditation Canada moves from a point-in-time survey to a continuous ad hoc model. The Senior Project Manager will also lead corporate status reporting, provide oversight for future ad hoc survey logistics and simulations, and is responsible for engaging and communicating with hospital leaders, Programs and Departments on an ongoing basis to ensure the organization is maintaining the best practice standards set forth from Accreditation Canada, continuing the execution of future plans presented to surveyors during the on-site visit, and implementing new standards where applicable.

The QI team resides within the Quality, Risk & Patient Safety Department and looks to advance the hospital\xe2\x80\x99s goals of fostering a culture of Quality and Safety. The initiatives undertaken by the QI team are aimed at improving quality, access and sustainability to drive safety. This exciting role not only offers an opportunity to make a significant impact across our multi-site structure, it will also work to deliver a new kind of health care for a healthier community.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the planning and coordination of work plans and committee updates related to Accreditation and Foundations of Clinical Excellence, while liaising with leaders to ensure timely completion of initiatives and to provide implementation support where required.
  • Present the Accreditation and Foundations of Clinical Excellence strategy and ongoing status updates at various THP committees and forums.
  • Understand and translate new standards for the THP environment and work with leads to develop action plans to implement new best practices.
  • Monitor gaps in compliance and develop action plans to meet Accreditation best practices.
  • Manage multiple project goals, timelines, milestones, and resources in collaboration with hospital programs, and enabling services.
  • Oversee the budget for Accreditation and manage all project risks/issues and associated escalations where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with inter-disciplinary, cross-site teams (e.g. Professional Practice Leads & Clinical Educators) on developing targeted local level work plans to close standards gaps.
  • Lead the corporate-level education roll-out plan, while facilitating the creation of knowledge translation tools.
  • Oversee the compilation of corporate-level evidence for standards.
  • Administer patient/staff/physician surveys.
  • Organize and execute mock tracers and simulation exercises.
  • Lead and support the coordination and facilitation of projects using project management fundamentals.
  • Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ideal candidates must have an undergraduate degree in business, life sciences or a health-related discipline.
  • A Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business administration, public administration, or healthcare administration or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with complex and dynamic teams; experience in the healthcare sector is an asset.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is strongly preferred.
  • Previous Accreditation experience is an asset.
  • Lean Six Sigma training and change management experience is an asset.
  • Superior, demonstrated project management experience in leading complex, interdisciplinary and cross-program/enterprise initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams/stakeholders.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (presentation, written, and oral) skills to deliver comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians.
  • Superior strategic, critical thinking and problem solving abilities are required.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to collect, analyze, share, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
