Edmonton, AB, CA, Canada

Job Description

Lead. Mentor. Grow with Us. At Remedy Engineering, we believe great design is built on trust, collaboration, and deep technical expertise. We're looking for our next Senior Project Manager -- a trusted leader who brings clarity to complex challenges, supports others through mentorship and keep projects on track, all while setting a strong example for others.

If you are an experienced mechanical engineer/technologist ready to step into a role that blends technical strength with firm leadership, this is your opportunity to grow with a company that leads with purpose and delivers with integrity.

Note:

This is a full-time, permanent, in-office role based in Edmonton.

Who Are We?

Remedy Engineering is an engineering firm focused on mechanical systems in buildings. We envision a world where engineering solutions are not only smart and sustainable, but also ethical and equitable. We believe that engineering is not just a technical discipline, but a social and environmental one as well. We seamlessly bridge the gap between design and construction, providing comprehensive field administration services, coordination, and meticulous documentation for building mechanical systems from the inception to the completion of each project. We strive to create solutions that benefit both our clients and the communities they serve, upholding our core values of Honesty, Integrity, and Diligence!

What You'll Be Doing:

As a Senior Project Manager, you'll have a leadership role that spans across four key areas: technical delivery, team leadership, business development, and operational support. Here's what that actually looks like:

Project and Technical Leadership

Oversee project delivery to ensure work is completed on time, on budget, and to Remedy's quality standards. Offer technical guidance to project teams -- stepping in to troubleshoot or provide clarity as needed. Proactively identify and address project challenges, helping teams navigate obstacles while maintaining high standards. Lead or support the development of internal standards, templates, and quality assurance practices.

People Leadership and Mentorship

Be a visible, approachable leader to junior and intermediate staff -- someone they turn to for support. Model and reinforce Remedy's values through your actions and decision-making. Mentor team members to grow their confidence, technical abilities, and professionalism. Step in to mediate or resolve team dynamics when necessary. Support resourcing and team planning by helping match the right people to the right projects.

Operational and Cultural Stewardship

Review and approve staff timesheets and ensure operational processes are followed. Participate in setting and upholding Remedy's policies, procedures, and internal systems. Be part of internal conversations that shape how we work. Bring forward suggestions for how we can evolve, improve, or work more effectively.

Business Development and External Engagement

Represent Remedy at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities. Develop proposals, contribute to thought leadership, and build relationships in the community. Help identify and cultivate new business opportunities. Act as a trusted voice in front of clients, representing the firm with professionalism and care.

What Success Looks Like:

You are recognized inside and outside the firm as a steady technical leader. Teams come to you early when things get complex. Your projects close out on time, on budget, and with fewer surprises. Junior and intermediate staff grow faster because you make space for learning and development. You contribute beyond project delivery by helping shape standards, supporting proposals, and representing Remedy in the industry.

Who You Are:

You are someone who people turn to, to help them think things through. You bring a steady presence to complex situations, and you are comfortable juggling the demands of project delivery, team mentorship, and business priorities.

You have built your career on technical excellence, but you have also learned that how you lead matters. You don't shy away from difficult conversations, and you don't disappear when things get hard. You care about the people you work with, and you understand that leadership is a service.

What We Want To See on Your Resume:

Technical Experience

12+ years in mechanical engineering in building systems. Roles where you have served as a lead or senior engineer/technologist on complex projects. Project lists that show your ability to manage technical scope, budget, and timelines. Evidence of quality work on multidisciplinary or client-facing projects.

Leadership & Mentorship

Roles that include team leadership, staff oversight, or mentoring responsibilities. Project management or technical lead titles, or bullets that show you have coordinated others' work. Involvement in hiring, onboarding, or performance feedback.

Firm Contributions

Examples of improving systems, developing standards, or supporting internal processes. Include participation in firm committees or strategic initiatives.

Business Development and Industry Engagement

Active involvement in industry organizations (e.g., APEGA, ASET, ASHRAE, CIBSE). Descriptions of contributions you have made to proposals, fee estimates or scope development. Examples of client engagement. A tone of accountability, collaboration, and care in how you describe your work.
