Job Description

We're looking for a hybrid Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering in the engineering and infrastructure consulting industry.
Our client is a community-driven engineering and architecture consulting firm with a strong focus on delivering infrastructure projects in communities across Canada. They are deeply committed to culturally informed design, sustainability, and meaningful collaboration. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and execution of multidisciplinary civil engineering projects.
Senior Project Manager responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution, and close-out of infrastructure and site development projects
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk strategies
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and community representatives to align project goals and expectations
  • Direct internal teams and external consultants to meet technical and regulatory standards
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff
  • Support team development through coaching, delegation, and performance feedback
  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and monthly progress documentation
  • Oversee contractor invoicing, RFIs, and tender-related documentation
The successful candidate has:
  • 10+ years of civil engineering and project management experience in Canada
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; P.Eng. designation and provincial engineering association membership in good standing
  • PMP designation is considered a strong asset
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams or multidisciplinary project groups
  • Demonstrated experience in water, sewer, drainage, and road design for urban or remote sites
  • Ability to read and prepare BOQs, technical drawings, and detailed design documents
  • Experience interpreting contracts and managing client and contractor communication
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD 2D, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team coordination skills
Compensation and benefits:
  • The discussed salary range is $190,000 - $230,000 depending on experience
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
