Job Description

As a Senior Project Manager, Energy Transition, you will be part of helping Irving Oil meet the opportunities and challenges associated with the Global Energy Transition. Your goal will be to support projects including, but not limited to, Hydrogen, Green Refineries and Biofuels projects, and other renewable and Clean Fuel Regulations projects. As this overall project and initiative will continue to evolve for our organization, additional areas of activity can/will arise. Your success will be the development and execution of capital projects typically ranging between $1 to $150M on sites inside and outside the refinery and across our supply chain.

Your Responsibilities:
Lead the conceptual development, detailed engineering, and execution of Energy Transition projects from concept to completion in compliance to IOL's internal gate review processes
Submit funding requests for each phase, completing the Project Charter, Execution Plan and other corresponding project and internal documentations. Also responsible for interfacing with internal/external engineering, internal/external stakeholders, regulators, 3rd parties, construction, and commissioning teams
Direct the completion of engineering packages and work orders, construction and commissioning documentations ensuring procurement, contracts deliverables and regulatory applications are complete until the close out of project
Define project scope, activities, and deliverables in support of business goals across all phases of the project lifecycle
Responsible for safety, schedule, cost, and quality
Coordinates project meetings and effectively communicates project meeting minutes, action plans, expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
Draft and submit budget requests and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
Develop and deliver regular KPIs, progress reports, presentations, and other necessary project communications
Proactively manage risks, changes in project scope, cost, schedule, and critical path
Identify potential problem areas and recommend contingency and mitigation plans
Coach, mentor and supervise junior and intermediate project managers
Your Skills:

Your Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher
Minimum 15 years' experience in project management within the engineering/construction or related sector
Experience in renewable projects or energy transition is an asset
P. Eng. or PMP is an asset
