About the Opportunity
A Public Sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a high-profile initiative focused on the assessment, planning, and execution of secure physical space projects. This role sits within a high-security environment and plays a critical role in delivering complex infrastructure and facilities programs that support national mandates.
You will become part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team, working alongside internal stakeholders and external partners to drive outcomes that are measurable, compliant, and mission-critical. Duties include but are not limited to:
Initiation

  • Review established project management artifacts for use as basis for ongoing project management activities
  • Review and ensure understanding of Project Charter and Project Management Plan including scope, work breakdown structure, project schedule and timelines
  • Review and ensure understanding of budget requirements (internal and external costs) for project
  • Review and ensure understanding of Project Complexity and Risk Assessment
  • Review and ensure understanding of project specific deliverables such as business requirement
  • Review recent governance meeting minutes and ensure understanding of current issues
  • Attend kick-off meeting with Project Authority and team members to discuss project status and way forward
Project Execution
  • Track and report on project progress; identify issues or potential issues; propose, obtain approval and carry out corrective actions as necessary
  • Follow-up with stakeholders as needed for production of deliverables in this phase
  • Review and update project plan, RAID log, Action log, budget report and project status reports throughout project lifecycle
  • Actively manage the project to ensure it stays within the approved parameters (as documented in the Charter and the Plan)
  • Schedule and coordinate working group meetings
  • Attend and lead discussions during working group meetings on project status and action items
  • Attend and take meeting minutes during Steering Committee meetings and provide input on project status as required
  • Oversee and manage solution design, build and Quality Assurance (QA) activities
  • Lead engagement activities with external partners including the construction company, building maintenance, CSIS, CCCS, SSC and PSPC as needed to ensure progress on project deliverables
  • Maintain electronic filing using the client's information management system (SharePoint and/or Cloud) as determined by Project Authority
Project Closure
  • Carry out Financial and Contract closeout activities including the preparation and delivery of an executive summary and presentation to capture budget and scheduling variances, as well as lessons learned
  • Ensure proper information management, using the client's electronic systems (SharePoint and/or Cloud) of all project documentation as determined by Project Authority
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Proven, substantive experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering 3 complex projects from initiation through close-out
  • Experience as a Senior Project Manager in organizing and leading recurring work planning and monitoring meetings with multiple delivery teams
  • Experience as a Senior Project Manager preparing and delivering executive steering committee presentations
  • Experience as a Project Manager related to the procurement, design, and construction of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in line with Government of Canada standards*
  • Experience as a Project Manager in the planning and monitoring of Authority to Operate (ATO) deliverables required for SCIF Accreditation in line with Government of Canada standards*
  • Experience as a Project Manager in writing ATO content required for SCIF accreditation in line with Government of Canada standards*
  • English essential
  • Must have a valid Secret level security clearance
