Position Overview
The Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Construction & Infrastructure to lead and manage projects through all phases of the project lifecycle. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects in accordance with project management governance and corporate standards.
The Senior Project Manager will provide expert guidance in developing project requirements, constructing detailed execution plans, managing budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, organizing, and execution of construction and infrastructure projects.
Prepare project background information, scope documentation, constructability reviews, and business cases for senior management approval.
Gather and consolidate input from stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure all project requirements are captured.
Arrange for and obtain necessary approvals, permits, licenses, and clearances from internal and external agencies.
Organize and lead meetings to coordinate activities among designers, contractors, suppliers, and operations teams.
Evaluate project plans at each stage to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Review and approve contractor submissions, schedules, work methods, and quality procedures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and Contractor Management governance.
Maintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and agencies to ensure project objectives are met.
Stay current with construction, budgeting, estimating, and scheduling best practices, and ensure project teams adhere to corporate procedures.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
4-year university degree in Engineering, Science, or Business.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation is an asset.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
Experience:
6-10 years of project management experience, including developing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, managing contracts, and executing project closeouts.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a live construction environment, including project planning.
Experience working with facilities, infrastructure, and ICI construction projects is a strong asset.
Familiarity with applicable building codes such as OBC and NBCC is desirable.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
Knowledge of cost accounting and forecasting as they relate to project management.

Work Environment
This role is hybrid: primarily on-site at Bowmanville, with 2 days per week remote.
Projects may require occasional travel within the region to coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
