Senior Project Manager

Job Description


We are looking for a Senior Project Manager for a 6-month contract position with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Schedule is approximately 37.5 hours a week. Flexible work schedule, remote work when practical but in-person engagements will be required.

Role Description
A Senior Project Manager is required to establish and lead a cross functional team through Phases 1 & 2 of an Archibus Update Project and bring the organization to the point of self-sustainment. The successful candidate will assist in confirming that Archibus is the ideal enterprise software system to meet the company needs, then aid in the update of the system from its current customized state to a more practical version.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining exactly how Archibus is used across the organization.
  • Establish the needs of the organization and work to ensure that the new Archibus system can meet these requirements.
  • Establish a detailed plan for the implementation.
  • Steering committee formation.
  • Resource identification.
  • Comprehensive requirement elicitation and validation.
  • Business process review, gap analysis, and recommendation.
  • Development of project detailed plan including schedule, budget, and Capital submission.
  • Execution of the detailed implementation plan.
  • Transition of the implemented solution to the organization for ongoing sustainment.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of formal project management experience.
  • Experience managing large, complex, and cross-functional projects related to custom enterprise software development, COTS enterprise software implementations, application integration and organizational change.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple related projects and manage the interdependencies among them.
  • Experience overseeing procurement planning including requirements definition, coordinating internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Previous experience managing data migration and new software rollouts, including oversight of testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Prior experience with the Archibus software application would be a strong asset.
  • Strong, team-oriented mindset and demonstrated collaborative, communication and influencing skills.
  • Able to quickly build trusting, productive relationships with stakeholders, project team members, and senior leaders.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • IT and/or facilities projects experience.
  • PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Agile and scrum experience.
  • Change management expertise.
  • Public sector project management experience.
