This Senior Project Manager posting is an exciting, new, and critical provincial position within the Provincial Rehabilitation branch of the Allied Health Professional Practice & Education department and reports directly to the Provincial Director of Collaborative Prehabilitation and Rehabilitation Patient Services. The Provincial Prehabilitation Coordination Team (PPCT) is a new interdisciplinary rehabilitation team that will be responsible for co-designing, creating and delivery of Universal & Targeted Prehabilitation services in collaboration with Allied Health Zone Operations. Prehabilitation interventions aim to improve or maintain health across five domains: physical, nutritional, psychological, social, and modifiable risk factors. Universal services will meet the needs of broad populations through accessible resources including on-demand handouts and video-based information for patients preparing for surgery. Targeted services will meet the needs of patients and families and/or care providers with a common need through education and on-line, virtual, or live programming. The PPCT team will work with University of Alberta faculty researchers to incorporate interactive web applications as part of the innovative solution to offer Universal & Targeted Prehabilitation services across Alberta. The Senior Project Manager will utilize their in-depth knowledge and extraordinary skills to develop, plan, organize, lead, and control large province-wide simultaneous, highly visible, complex cross sector, interdisciplinary projects efficiently and effectively with a high degree of expertise and independence.

The Senior Project Manager (Senior PM) is responsible for and provides leadership to project management activities across all stages of a project, often including pre-project activities and spanning project initiation, planning and execution, implementation, evaluation and closure. The Senior PM applies project management methodology and expertise, effectively facilitates diverse groups addressing complex issues, and skillfully engages stakeholders to develop effective and efficient solutions and health services. The Senior PM applies knowledge management practices and expertise to effectively manage project knowledge and contribute to organizational learning. The Senior PM works with a high degree of independence on assigned projects and services, with guidance in only the most complex situations. The Senior PM seeks guidance from the Director CPAR appropriately for complex issues that may have broader organization impact. The Senior PM role requires specialized and advanced expertise, knowledge and skill, along with considerable experience within healthcare environments.
