This Role is site-based at KSM Mine, Hwy 37, BC. Camp accommodations and transportation to the site are provided by Seabridge Gold from Terrace, BC. This position operates on a 14x14 day rotational schedule.


Position Overview:





The Senior Project Engineer provides leadership and technical oversight for assigned design packages, ensuring that engineering and construction activities meet project objectives, quality standards, and approved plans. This role involves monitoring the work of engineers, consultants, and other professional staff engaged in the design of buildings, roads, dams, water treatment plants, process facilities, power plants, maintenance and administrative buildings, and related infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:





Key responsibilities include actively managing multiple design consultants and subconsultants, tracking progress, monitoring cost and quality performance, and identifying and reporting any deviations from approved scope, schedule, budget, or specified standards. The Senior Project Engineer will also coordinate field work to support construction execution and closeout and, as required, provide direction for site-based work. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, including Package Managers, Construction, Project Services, Project Controls, and Site Services, as well as external consultants, such as material testing services, engaged to support site construction activities.



This role is accountable for managing assigned design packages and field activities, ensuring compliance with project standards, safety, environmental, and community requirements, including but not limited to the following:


Manage assigned design packages and field activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. Ensure all work is executed safely and in compliance with environmental, community, and corporate policies and standards. Manage the Field Engineering team. Responsible for execution of RFI/NCN processes. Manage site-based data management systems and processes. Monitor consultant and contractor performance, coordinating progress, cost, and quality reporting, and addressing any deviations from approved scope, schedule, budget, or standards. Implement remedial actions and monitor risk management processes to maintain project performance, updating risk registers and mitigations as required. Extract and organize data from plans, engineering reports, and specifications to support the work of consultants and vendors. Coordinate work inputs from internal teams and external stakeholders, including site services, construction, and engineering. Periodically review execution plans and report any deviations to management. Ensure ongoing compliance with material movement and ML/ARD tracking and reporting requirements, in partnership with KSM Compliance team. Ensure project close-out and construction turnover is completed in alignment with project standards. Participate in site quality initiatives, continuous improvement programs, and other corporate quality activities. Ensure all work conforms to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and specified quality standards. Ongoing support for Construction and Site Management as required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of quality assurance expertise, compliance oversight, and effective collaboration, supported by the following qualifications and experience:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Eligible to operate a company vehicle and meet company insurance requirements. Demonstrated visible field safety leadership with the ability to promote and maintain a strong safety culture. Comprehensive knowledge of the engineering design process, construction methodologies, and trade practices. Strong understanding of project management principles, construction delivery methods, and tools used to manage cost, schedule, quality, and risk. Sound knowledge of management concepts and best practices applicable to project delivery. Minimum 7 years of experience in large-scale mining project development or comparable industrial projects. Proven experience managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary design activities. Experience administering construction and vendor service contracts. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, interact with clients and stakeholders, and operate in cross-cultural settings. Strong relationship-building skills, including empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to achieve consensus and alignment cooperatively. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with ability to use other project-related software as required. * Commitment to high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
