Role:


The

Senior Project Engineer

is responsible for the

execution and coordination of engineering activities

across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines. This role bridges

technical engineering work

and

project management

, ensuring that engineering deliverables, schedules, and risks are controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

You will be the

engineering execution lead

, working closely with the Project Manager and System Engineer to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget, and to specification.

Tasks:


Engineering Coordination & Execution Ownership



Lead day-to-day coordination of engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Software). Ensure deliverables align with project requirements, milestones, and budgets. Track task progress, workloads, dependencies, and risks. Maintain task tracking in SharePoint and validate effort estimates.

Schedule, Budget & Risk Management



Analyze schedule impacts from design changes, delays, or testing results. Manage internal Variation Orders (VOs) in collaboration with the PM. Provide detailed engineering progress updates and risk reports. Forecast technical task durations and resource requirements.

Change & Documentation Control



Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure accurate implementation. Validate FMIs (Field Modification Instructions) before release to field teams. Ensure engineering documentation is updated, correct, and compliant.

Technical Interface & Communication



Act as a key technical communication bridge between engineering disciplines, PM, supply chain, and customer representatives. Support customer meetings with schedule updates, technical status, and documentation. Provide clarity on requirements interpretations and deliverables.

Integration & Prototype Support



Support prototype builds and testing coordination. Track prototype configuration revisions and test readiness. Assist in technical investigations and root-cause analyses.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement



Mentor Project Engineers on process and coordination best practices. Identify process gaps and recommend improvements. Contribute to REX (Return of Experience) documentation.

Requirements:


You:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field). 10-15+ years of experience supporting or leading technical engineering projects. Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering environments. Demonstrated expertise in scheduling, risk management, ECN processes, and coordination. Excellent communication in English and French. High level of organization, follow-through, and accountability. Experience in transportation, aerospace, or electromechanical systems (asset). The candidate must also be willing to travel occasionally to Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia (approximately 10-15%)
