Make a Difference
Lead biological and environmental components?of multi-disciplinary projects including:
Wetland Assessments (ABWRET-A, WAIR, Water Act)
Aquatic and riparian habitat assessments
Species at risk surveys
Migratory Bird Convention Act compliance (nest sweeps, buffers)
Municipal Technical Environmental Reports
Environmental Screenings and Biophysical Impact Assessments
Permitting and approvals under the Water Act, Public Lands Act, DFO, ECCC and CER regulations
Plan and execute field programs, often in coordination with environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and Phase 2), remediation and reclamation programs, and pre-disturbance assessments.
Support permitting and regulatory strategy?for linear infrastructure (pipelines, transmission), land development, and closure projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Mentor junior staff, provide technical review, and lead QA/QC of biological deliverables and regulatory submissions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships?with clients, regulators, and Indigenous communities, and contribute to proposal writing and project scoping.
Showcase your Education & Expertise
Registered Professional Biologist?(R.P.Bio., P.Biol.) in Alberta.
Wetland Authenticating Professional.
Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist.
10+ years of relevant experience in terrestrial and/or aquatic biology in Western Canada.
Strong understanding of provincial and federal environmental regulations, permitting pathways, and technical guidance documents.
Demonstrated experience coordinating with regulators (Alberta Environment and Parks, DFO, ECCC, municipalities).
Excellent technical writing and reporting skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.
Good sense of humour and a strong admiration of our Mullet Culture is an asset.
