Our proprietary platform consolidates all pet information into a single place and provides the services for pet owners, community members and animal shelters to ensure pets can be reunited quickly if they become lost.

Beyond our platform, DocuPet offers specialized pet tags, an AI-powered pet tracker, lost pet alert system, and will soon be launching a first-of-its-kind pet parenting mobile app - all aimed to ensure every pet in North America is registered and that each has a safe and happy home.

A new National Pet Record Search Tool, launched in Q2, 2025, is available for free to all shelters joining our National Animal Shelter Network. DocuPet has the support of the animal welfare industry, and with astute strategic leadership will become the de facto National Pet Registry program serving tens of millions of pet owners by 2027.

What You'll Do



Architect the Commerce Ecosystem



Own the Digital Storefront Roadmap:

Define the vision for a commerce engine that manages the complexity of municipal licensing, physical hardware (smart tags), and recurring services.

User Acquisition and Lifecycle Strategy:

Transform a mandatory municipal requirement into a delightful onboarding experience, moving pet parents from "compliance" to "community" through high-value integrated reunification, health, and safety services.

Drive Exponential Growth through Empathy



Engineer Trust-Based Growth Loops:

Design viral mechanics and referral loops (e.g., "Gift a Tag" or social reunification features) that turn every licensed user into an advocate, driving zero-CAC acquisition.

Optimize the "Attach" Strategy:

Use data-driven insights to design intelligent, empathetic recommendation triggers that link our hardware (GPS) with services (Insurance/Wellness) at the exact moment a parent needs them.

Lead Strategic Discovery & Evidence-Based Delivery



De-risk the Roadmap:

Lead continuous, structured discovery--including pet parent interviews, ethnography, and usability testing--to ensure we are solving the highest-value problems for our users.

Bridge Physical and Digital:

Own the "unboxing" and activation experience of our smart tags, ensuring the physical product launch is a seamless bridge to our digital subscription ecosystem.

Operationalize the Pet Parent Journey:

Own the end-to-end funnel--from the joy of a new adoption to the urgency of a lost pet--ensuring the UX is accessible, transparent, and built on a foundation of safety.

Define and Socialize Success



Metric Instrumentation:

Define and monitor key performance indicators (conversion, churn, AOV, LTV) and use these insights to pivot or persevere on major initiatives.

Communicate the "Why":

Translate complex data and qualitative discovery insights into a clear narrative for executive leadership and municipal partners, ensuring alignment on the commerce strategy.

What You'll Bring



The Experience



6+ Years in High-Growth E-commerce:

You have a track record of owning a digital storefront or marketplace where you were directly responsible for moving core business metrics (Conversion, AOV, or LTV).

Subscription & Lifecycle Mastery:

Proven experience managing recurring revenue models. You understand the nuances of churn prevention, "dunning" management, and the psychology of member retention.

The Physical-Digital Bridge:

Ideally, you've worked in a business that ships a physical product tied to a digital service (IoT, Wearables, or "Box" subscriptions). You understand that the product experience starts at the mailbox, not just the inbox.

Startup "Stamina":

You thrive in environments where you must build the "0 to 1" strategy while simultaneously optimizing the "1 to 10" scale.

The Technical & Analytical Toolkit



Growth Engineering Mindset:

You are an expert in A/B and multivariate testing. You don't just "look at reports"; you use tools like SQL, Amplitude, or Mixpanel to find the "why" behind the data.

Complex Checkout Logic:

Experience with complex cart requirements--handling multi-jurisdictional taxes (B2G/Municipal), varied shipping logic, and payment orchestration.

Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Craft:

A deep toolkit of UX patterns that reduce friction and build trust. You can look at a checkout flow and immediately identify the cognitive load issues.

Complex Commerce & Fulfillment Architecture:

Expert-level command of Order Management (OMS) and Inventory (IMS) systems required to synchronize physical hardware fulfillment (Smart Tags) with digital service activations; you understand how to architect back-office data flows to manage the lifecycle of recurring subscriptions alongside one-time licensing bodies fee collections.

Strategic Prioritization:

You use frameworks (like RICE or Kano) to ruthlessly prioritize, but you have the intuition to know when to place a "big bet" that the data can't yet prove.

You are comfortable speaking "Engineer" to the dev team, "Brand" to the marketing team, and "Constituent Value" to the municipal partners.

Pay: $125,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
