Purpose of Job


The Senior Product Analyst will be responsible for supporting the HELOC management team on product operations, strategic decision-making, and initiatives. Becoming a key subject matter expert on HELOC data, trends, and opportunities, they will contribute alongside cross functional teams to the overall strategy and direction of the business unit. The Analyst will use their analytical abilities to provide both qualitative and quantitative input supporting the development of recommendations to refine the product.

Main Activities:

  • Strategic Initiatives & Decision Making
  • Contribute to the discovery, planning and execution process for a range of strategic and tactical business topics (e.g., growth, pricing, operational efficiency, regulatory, etc.)
  • Support the development of business cases for new opportunities including qualitative fact finding and quantitative modeling for new products
  • Create and deliver presentations to communicate findings from analysis
  • Develop familiarity with internal systems and gather relevant data from various internal sources Support execution of product improvements or initiatives


  • Portfolio Reporting & Insights
  • Ideate, design, build and manage dashboards (PowerBI, Tableau, Excel) that consolidate portfolio metrics for operational and strategic decision making
  • Monitor and analyse key business OKRs, provide insights into trends
  • Develop and communicate presentation materials with key data and portfolio insights
  • Establish repeatable processes/methodology that enable quicker turnaround on analysis
  • Develop and use quantitative methods (e.g., Excel models) to develop insights that support decision making


  • Cross-functional data support & investigations
  • Support requests from cross-functional teams to provide data or analysis to enable them to make data-driven decisions
  • Support strategic planning and budgeting process (e.g., financial modeling, market research, development of presentation materials, etc.)
  • Investigate system data discrepancies and provide proposals on related process or system improvements
  • Present key insights and recommendations based on research and data analysis


Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
  • 3-5 years of work experience (2-5 in the financial industry \xe2\x80\x93 preferably mortgages)
  • Experience building data reports and visualization tools (e.g. SQL, Cyberquery, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Awareness of key trends in Financial Services, banking & payments
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent analytical, modeling and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excels in using MS Office tools (Excel, Access, Power Point)
  • Strong attention to detail

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank\xe2\x80\x99s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
