Senior Procurement Specialist

About the role:



We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness of our procurement processes. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities that will support our mining operations and projects across Canada and the United States.

Job Responsibilities:



Lead procurement projects, including conducting market research, preparing bid packages, managing commercial negotiations, and drafting contracts for final approval and signature. Oversee the implementation and compliance of the company's Procurement Policy across assigned projects and regions. Preparation of procurement reports, board memos, presentations, and other supporting documents. Develop and verify Annual Procurement Plans in alignment with business objectives. Consolidate procurement requirements within and outside the annual plan to achieve efficiency and cost optimization. Analyze consolidation potential for selected product categories at the global level. Participate in the development of global procurement strategies and supporting tools such as cost of ownership (TCO) templates, cost analysis models, supplier profiles, and negotiation framework. Manage global support for procurement systems, including the CMS and SAP Ariba platforms, and contribute to their development based on business needs. Support local procurement teams through training, guidance, and oversight to ensure adherence to company procurement policies and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience



At least 5 years of work experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management preferably in the mining sector. Degree in supply chain management, project management, logistics, business administration, or related field. MA/MSc/MBA or relevant certification is a plus. Proven expertise in procurement platforms and ERP systems including SAP Ariba, JD Edwards, and related tools. Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Experience working in multicultural and international environments will be an asset.

Required Skills:



In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices. Experience with modern sourcing and the SAP Ariba procurement system. Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers. Experience in collecting and analyzing data. Technical skills will be an asset. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Fluent written and verbal command of English. Knowledge of Polish and Spanish language will be an asset.
