AHS seeks an experienced, results-oriented nurse Senior Practice Consultant to join our team. As the Perioperative Senior Practice Consultant, you will embrace innovation and use your clinical knowledge and skills in education, leadership, change management, and communication to advance provincial programs. You will report to the Director of Clinical Education Transition, within Health Professions Strategy and Practice (HPSP), and can be located anywhere in Alberta.

Description:

You will support best practices in Perioperative Education and provide expert counsel and direct skilled support related to provincially standardized Perioperative Education program and resources. You will apply a person-centered education model, guiding assigned initiatives and aligning advancement of Perioperative nursing professional practice and education. Lead Clinical Expertise Working Groups for the development of sustainable Perioperative education and resources and provide ongoing oversight of implementation. Apply nursing knowledge to development and oversight of evidence based best practice content in Perioperative Education. Coach, or mentor others to coach, nurses who are implementing Perioperative Education and resources. Coordinate, communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:

RN. Master of Nursing, Health or Education related degree. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an RN in the perioperative environment within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Minimum of (3) three years\' experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator and/or Clinical Nurse Specialist in Perioperative Nursing. Wide scope of experience in clinical education including education development, delivery, and coordination, as well as mentorship of learners and other educators. Strong analytic, organizational, and communication skills. Intermediate skills with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel), and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications:

Formal training and/or equivalent work experience in technology enabled instructional design, education program development, educator mentoring, and/or education administration. Formal training and/or equivalent work experience in group facilitation, mentoring and clinical practice support. Proficient knowledge of learning software, evaluation tools, and change management methodology. A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
