Job Description




AECOM Burnaby is hiring a Ports & Marines Project Manager.


Responsibilities




Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and delivery of ports, terminals, and marine infrastructure projects. Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives. Provide technical leadership in marine structural and geotechnical engineering, including container terminals, LNG and oil terminals, offshore wind facilities, and bulk material handling. Ensure quality assurance and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations. Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to manage project execution. Develop and implement innovative engineering and design solutions to address technical and operational challenges. Prepare technical documentation including designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports. Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting knowledge-sharing and technical excellence. Support business development through technical input on proposals, participation in industry forums, and engagement with professional associations.

Qualifications




Minimum Requirements




Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Marine, or Coastal Engineering (or related discipline). 10+ years of relevant experience in ports and marine infrastructure, including design and project management. Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or eligible within 12 months or PMP or MBA

Preferred Qualifications




Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical, Structural, or Marine Engineering. Proven track record of delivering complex marine infrastructure projects from concept through detailed design and construction. Demonstrated expertise in marine structural design, geotechnical engineering, seismic analysis, and soil-structure interaction. Strong project management skills, including budget control, scheduling, risk management, and client interface. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to liaise effectively across disciplines and with external stakeholders. Experience in mentoring and supervising engineering teams. Board-Certified Port Engineer (BCPE) designation. Experience with LNG facilities, offshore wind foundations, and seismic design of marine terminals. Active participation in technical committees (e.g., ASCE/COPRI, PIANC, CSA). Published technical papers or contributions to industry standards. Business development experience, including proposal writing and client presentations. International project experience across diverse geographies.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $150,000.00 - $195,000.00.
