Purpose

As a Senior Piping Materials Engineer at Worley, you will be part of a global team that provide piping materials engineering services to Worley, and its Customers, for Oil & Gas projects.

This position is located in either Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Deliver piping material engineering services that meet Worley, its customers\xe2\x80\x99, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications on time and within budget.

• Perform piping material engineering services such as:

• assist with the preparation and checking of detailed material specifications, piping classes, pipe thickness calculations, and reports
• contribute to appropriate material studies, analyses, and recommended actions
• provide assistance during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. For example, write piping material requisitions for quotation and purchase, conduct technical bid evaluations, and review / approve vendor documents.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in piping material engineering.
• Communicate effectively with the piping engineering team and with all project stakeholders including the Customer.
• Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
• Assist and support other members of the Piping Engineering Team.
• If required, act as the Piping Engineering discipline lead on specific projects

Qualifications

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in piping materials engineering
• Sound technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver high quality, accurate, and timely work to Worley and its customers.
• Role includes project design input, specification, piping specialty items datasheets, technical bid evaluation and procurement of materials to support
• Pipeline and Facilities work in a portfolio environment.
• Knowledge of ASME/ASTM piping materials, line classes, and procurement.
• A working knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications

• ABSA requirements
• Knowledge of ASME / ASTM codes and standard related to piping engineering
• Knowledge of CSA pipeline materials and procurement is an asset.
• Competent use of piping engineering specific software and relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
• Small projects experience is an asset.
• EPC experience is an asset.

Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required:

\xc2\xb7 A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

\xc2\xb7 Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) status in Alberta with APEGA.

• Canadian Citizenship or Canadian Permanent Resident Status
