Job Description

Main Duties

Reporting to the Manager of Payroll, this position focuses on organizational excellence, by ensuring SIGA 's salaried employees are paid accurately and promptly.

Responsibilities include: Processing pay information for transmission. Reconciling a wide range of accounts and data. Ensuring data integrity through cross-checking and auditing others work. Investigating and developing actions plans to resolve payroll discrepancies. Responding to inquiries on a wide variety of payroll-related issues. Handling technical, policy, and process issues in the absence of the Payroll Manager. Gathering and reviewing salaried payroll data. Working as a team to handle periodic peaks in work. Completing other tasks as required, to ensure employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner.

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidates are subject to a background check as well are required to obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)/Indigenous Gaming Regulators (IGR).
  • The minimum age to work in a casino or any area where gaming can be seen is 19 years of age.
  • Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Tobacco smoke/High noise levels (during time spent at Casino sites).

  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements as may be applicable to your position including but not limited to both SLGA requirements and the Anti-Money Laundering requirements set out in the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and regulations and policies made thereunder by Canada and FINTRAC.
Qualifications

Education
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have completed, or are currently enrolled in, the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada designation or the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification
  • A combination of relevant education, training and or experience may be considered.
Experience
  • Previous experience working with employee Payroll, Benefits and/or Accounting software. Previous experience working with large, enterprise systems such as JD Edwards would be an asset.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
