Senior Payroll & Benefits Administrator

Job Description


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all payroll functions in Dayforce, including:
  • Prepare, verify, process, balance, and audit payrolls for salary & hourly Associates in accordance with established provincial and federal legislation, policies and procedures
  • Process payroll adjustments and reconcile earnings and deductions
  • Calculate and process taxable benefits
  • Reconcile Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) contributions
  • Review payroll data and investigate and correct data integrity issues
Manage all benefits administration including:
  • Reconcile monthly benefit premiums, billings and process for payment
  • Ensure benefits premiums are deducted accurately from employees pays and correct any discrepancies
  • Validate and correct errors in benefit files
Year-End Management - T4 reconciliations and issuances, T2200s, creating annual payroll calendars

Create and analyze reports as needed

Assist with internal and external audit requirements

Work with Finance to resolve finance and payroll issues

Review Payroll processes and provide information of payroll system requirements and determine potential avenues for improvement

Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
  • Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation required
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in a payroll & benefitsrole
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation in multiple provinces \xe2\x80\x93 British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario & Quebec
Technical Requirements
  • Strong technical proficiency with Dayforce
  • Strong Microsoft skills, specifically with Outlook and Excel
Non-Technical Requirements
  • Ability to manage priorities and multi-task independently
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to fellow Associates
  • Professional judgment skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain utmost confidentiality at all times
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret data to implement creative solutions
  • Looks for opportunities for improvement and implements positive changes
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm and assertiveness
