The Role



We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Technologist / Designer to support and lead the design, manufacturing, data management, and continuous improvement of wellhead equipment and related pressure-containing components. This role plays a key part in bridging engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations, while contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering and quality systems in a regulated oil and gas environment.

Responsibilities:



Engineering & Design



Develop, review, and maintain detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and models for wellhead equipment using SolidWorks. Apply and interpret API, ASME, ISO, and CSA standards relevant to wellhead and pressure equipment (e.g., API 6A, API 5CT). Create and manage BOMs, layouts, routings, and technical specifications. Perform and verify engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and material selections. Dimensional measuring of parts for designing custom components into existing equipment. Support design reviews, risk assessments, and change management processes.

Engineering & Quality Systems



Manage and maintain Part, Drawing & Documentation database using SharePoint. Develop, implement, and maintain engineering procedures, work instructions, and design control processes. Maintain document control for engineering and quality records. Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows, tools, and systems.

Manufacturing and Operations Support



Act as a technical liaison between engineering and other departments. Support DFM/DFA initiatives to improve manufacturability, cost, and lead times. Assist with prototype builds, testing, and qualification. Support shop-floor troubleshooting, non-conformance resolution, and corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience:



Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent. 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design and manufacturing, preferably within oil and gas wellhead equipment. Strong experience with CAD software, engineering documentation and part data management. Solid understanding of pressure equipment, materials, machining, welding, and heat treatment. Hands-on experience with API and quality system requirements. Experience working in a shop environment and utilizing quality measuring tools. Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
