Cenovus is currently looking for five Senior Mechanical Maintenance Planners to join our team at Sunrise!

Reporting to the Superintendent, they are responsible for planning all tasks related to a given work order for execution by the maintenance teams. The Mechanical Planner shall work with other on-site groups including Maintenance, Operations, Facility Integrity, Engineering, & Project teams, to ensure adequate coordination of maintenance activities.

This is a full-time camp-based employee position based at Sunrise Facility 70 KM northeast of Ft. McMurray Alberta working shift rotation.

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time employee position working a shift of 12 hours per day, 8 days on, 6 days off. Tuesday to Tuesday.

  • This position is a shared role with a cross-shift.

  • Sunrise has full-service camp facilities.

  • Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations.

  • Sunrise is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from Suncor Firebag Aerodrome


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all associated mechanical maintenance planning and creation of detailed work execution packages including selecting parts, identifying trades, special tools, skills, external services, rentals, and documentation required with planned costs

  • Produce job packages in alignment with Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99s best policies, practices, and procedures

  • Comply with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements

  • Engage on-site Warehousing, external Vendors, and Supply Chain Management to ensure all required parts, spares and materials are correct and available for each job

  • Support preventative maintenance job plan reviews

  • Receive work requests, prioritize jobs, and select work to be performed by priority

  • Responsible to ensure adequate planned activities to fill the two-week schedule within the assigned area & trade

  • Responsible to understand all critical safe work procedures

  • Adhere to KPI targets including but not limited to planning backlog, ready backlog, capacity utilization & costs

  • Assist the Scheduler to control, manage and report on backlog work activities

  • Provide planning support for Shutdown, Turnaround and Outage events as required

  • Responsible to liaison with multiple groups on site including but not limited to Maintenance, Operations, Facility Integrity, Supply Chain and Engineering

  • Responsible to facilitate and actively participate in various maintenance meetings throughout the work shift

  • Ensure that equipment data files are current and accurate while creating parts and materials lists

  • Ensure integrity of the Computer Maintenance Management System (SAP) to guarantee accurate asset work history

  • Provide feedback on established Maintenance Practices and Procedures, for continuous improvement

  • Support absence coverage requirements for Planning and Scheduling team


Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Journeyman Millwright, Welder or Pipefitter Trade Certification is required

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial setting, at the Journeyman Level is required

  • Scheduling experience would be considered an asset

  • Experience with the following Computer Maintenance Management Systems \xe2\x80\x93 SAP and/or Maximo

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

  • Demonstrated commitment to high safety standards

  • Superior trouble shooting skills, excellent organizational skills, problem solving and planning skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a team environment

  • Able to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures

  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license

  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing
