Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled

Senior Mechanical Estimator

to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction estimating and project management, with a strong ability to negotiate and build relationships with clients and vendors. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate pricing and cost management for various construction projects, contributing to the overall success of the corporation.

Duties

Maintaining and establishing client and vendor relationships. Preparing mechanical budgets based on bid specifications, or other types of pre-qualification modelling. Completing pre-construction tours for bid verification, site conditions analysis, cost overruns, and/or value engineering. Setting up data such as "Allpriser" in technological programming; reviewing and updating KPI's and drill down values. Review of all tender documents and all contractual obligations. Maintaining and updating all historical pre-construction data base. Providing training and assistance to new and existing staff members. Providing leadership and positive motivation. Maintaining corporate mandated margins and quarterly rate of award. Provide growth throughout the delivery and project management team. Work independently .

Experience

Excellent Mathematical skills. Specifically quick-thinking multiplication and subtraction. Excellent English: written and verbal. Excellent soft skills. 10+ years' experienceas a Mechanical Estimator majoring in all aspects of plumbing, piping, HVAC, and sheet metal within the ICI sector. Informal or formal leadership experience is considered a strong asset. Membership of any Mechanical or Engineering association is a strong asset. Experience in estimating a full range of project delivery metheods (Bid and Tender, IPD, Design build, P3). Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or other equivalent construction program or certification in one of the mechanical trades. Eligible for or have attained PQS, CET, PMP, or P. Eng designation Excellent knowledge of industry products, technical, and standard practices. Current and up to date knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building code regulations. Available full-time and within driving distance to Vaughan, Ontario.
