Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical design projects and coordinate with internal and external teams.
Oversee the design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Prepare and review technical drawings and documentation using
Revit
,
AutoCAD
, and
IESve
.
Conduct calculations, design reviews, and ensure all deliverables meet project requirements.
Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
Support client relations by providing regular updates and resolving technical challenges.
Mentor junior team members and promote continuous learning and improvement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical developments and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
License:
P.Eng. or Professional Technologist designation (preferred, not mandatory).
Experience:
Minimum 3-4 years of mechanical design experience (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection); 7+ years total experience preferred.
Software Skills:
Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and make sound engineering decisions.
Teamwork, Integrity, Client Focus, Collaboration, Strong Work Ethic.
Technical:
Project management, design oversight, peer review, and documentation control.
Working Conditions
Primarily an office-based role (approx. 80% desk work).
Up to 20% travel for site visits, meetings, or inspections.
May involve lifting light materials (up to 20 lbs).
Occasional use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety boots, vests, or hard hats for site visits.
