Job Description
Optimal Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our team on a part-time/project-based basis. This is a remote position, offering flexibility to work from anywhere in Ontario. You will work on a variety of projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional looking for flexible, remote, part-time work.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive engineering design and expertise for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems Review and affix professional stamp to mechanical drawings and calculations Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and regulations Collaborate effectively with clients and consultants to ensure successful project delivery Prepare and review specifications, design reports, and project documentation Oversee quality assurance processes and provide technical guidance to junior designers and engineers
Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required Minimum of 8-10 years experience in mechanical engineering, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for projects in Canada Demonstrated ability to professionally stamp drawings and calculations In-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Code, NFPA 96, and other relevant standards pertaining to HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection Extensive experience in commercial, residential, and industrial projects Excellent communication and collaboration skills
