As demand increases across their Alberta operations, we're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng) with deep technical expertise in ASME compliant pressure equipment design and on-stream leak repair systems.

Responsibilities
In this role, you'll play a vital part in the design, validation, and delivery of engineered leak repair solutions. You will:

  • Lead the design and detailed engineering of ASME-compliant leak repair enclosures and clamps.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, design drawings, and material specifications in line with ASME and client standards.
  • Apply on-stream leak repair theory and practical field knowledge to develop custom-engineered solutions.
  • Review and authenticate design work according to APEGA standards and internal QA/QC procedures.
  • Oversee techno-commercial estimations and contribute to proposal and cost evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with Designers, Drafters, and cross-discipline teams to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
  • Participate in vendor technical reviews, client consultations, and fabrication coordination.
  • Support field engineers and inspectors, ensuring accurate and safe implementation of designs.
  • Operate primarily in-office within a collaborative engineering team environment. Remote work flexibility may be available once a strong working relationship has been established.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Design Engineering.
  • Active P.Eng. designation in good standing with APEGA.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, with proven hands-on exposure to ASME pressure
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, Navisworks, and related drafting tools.
  • Familiarity with 3D scanning technology (e.g., Artec Studio).
  • Working knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical for design verification.
  • Strong understanding of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII/IX, and ASME PCC-2.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate, and maintain a flexible, team-focused attitude.
  • Physically fit and able to travel occasionally (0-25%) as project needs arise.
  • Understanding of pressure testing codes and principles.
  • Experience with lifting analysis for pinned connections.
  • Familiarity with hot tap design and applications in industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of international engineering codes and best practices.
