We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience and possess a strong background in mechanical engineering and be proficient in various design and analysis tools. This role involves leading projects from concept through production, ensuring that all designs meet quality, performance, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Developing and managing a mechanical design team consisting of other Professional Engineers, designers, and support staff
Developing business relationships with new clients
Mentoring EIT's as required
Travelling to various client sites, attending project meetings and conducting field reviews
Formulating and developing advanced techniques and concepts in Mechanical Engineering
Developing conceptual designs, preliminary designs and detailed designs deliverables including calculations, layouts and sketches, drawings, technical specifications etc.
Performing design review or design verification on technical documents prepared by others
Ensuring quality and consistency, accuracy, and completeness of engineering deliverables
Having the ability to work with a minimum of instructions, making decisions independently and
taking responsibility on technical matters
Complying with applicable QA procedures and be responsible for producing quality work
Assigning tasks to technicians and designers as well as supporting staff and revising their work.
Managing projects (delivering on-time and on-budget)
Experience
Registered as a Professional Engineer in good standing
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian university/college
15 years or more of mechanical design experience preferably in the industrial and/or mining sectors
Must be able to attend industrial sites and observe all applicable safety regulations
Proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Must be able to work on multiple projects at any given time and manage workloads according to resources available, deadlines, etc.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills with knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $120,000.00-$160,000.00 per year
