Purpose

The senior mechanical designer supports the design development of mechanical engineering within the Markham office. Under general supervision, performs routine to moderately difficult drafting/design and/or technical support assignments, requiring the application of advanced drafting and fundamental design techniques, and engineering and mathematical principles, in accordance with established standards and procedures. May direct the work of junior designers and technicians.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Prepares routine to moderately difficult engineering and construction drawings/models for a complete phase of a project from very rough sketches for only minimal information.

\xc2\xb7 Performs discipline design tasks which regularly require the application of fundamental engineering concepts.

\xc2\xb7 Reviews manufacturers\' or fabricators\' prints for conformance with contract specifications.

\xc2\xb7 Performs routine checking and/or verification tasks.

\xc2\xb7 Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data; references information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Assists engineers in preparing input for general purpose computer programs.

\xc2\xb7 Supports field assignments as required.

Qualifications

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

\xc2\xb7 Most be proficient in the drafting of piping systems, general arrangement drawings and site layout within Mining, Minerals & Metals projects, .

\xc2\xb7 Senior level mechanical designer experience or a two-year drafting/design technical degree and a minimum two years applicable discipline related CAD experience and proficiency in MicroStation is a must

\xc2\xb7 3D modeling experience using Aveva E3D is required

Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

\xc2\xb7 A recognized and relevant design qualification or equivalent.
